Over time, an expert hurler creates what is known as a signature toss. The easiest way to recognize this is to observe what the tosser is wagering on. He’ll almost certainly lay a pass line bet and then also purchase some numbers, like perhaps the 4 and 10. He has to place a pass line wager to throw, but the four and 10 buy wager is a bit abnormal, so he might have a signature. It would be best if you followed his lead and bet the same way he does.
Obviously though, he/she will toss a 7 sooner or later and you can’t leave all of your cash on the table forever, so you have to have a great pull back strategy. The easiest one to use is to start out at your largest bet, and purchase the same 2 numbers the player does. Then, just pull back the numbers by 1 unit after each win until you’re at the minimum.
Now let us say the four is rolled and you come away with $116. Keep the $58 on the ten and pull back the four to $38, and ask if you are able to purchase it for $38 and only pay $1 vigorish (five percent of thirty eight dollars is $1.90). If the four is rolled again, you win $76. Keep it at thirty eight dollars – you can not pay less than a one dollar vig on a buy bet and if they allow you to purchase the four (and ten) for thirty eight dollars and just pay $1, then continue on wagering.
Soon, if the 10 begins appearing you’ll have both the four and ten regressed down to $38. Keep both bets on the table except of course if the player takes his wagers down, or something strange occurs to wreck the shooter’s alertness. By pulling back your buy bets you will constantly have a wager on the carps table during a smokin roll, and after the initial success, everything else is pure profit
If you are an expert tosser yourself, bring your spouse or friend along, and the casino will allow him to manage your bets while you’re focusing attention on shooting.
